IN MEMORY OF
GURDALYN VICTORIA STEWART,
WITH LOVE FROM THE HALE FAMILY.
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Gurdalyn Victoria Stewart, on November 5, 2022, age 84. She was born October 17, 1938 in Mountainside, Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica. She was an only child to her father Leopold Robertson, who was a government accountant in Kingston. She emigrated to the United States on July 4, 1965, and received her Nurse Assistant certification, caring for the elderly. For a few years, Gurdalyn worked at the Englewood Hospital in New Jersey, before transitioning into agency work. She was a very strong woman, fierce "mama bear", and wasn't afraid of anything or anyone.
Gurdalyn is survived by her two daughters, Sonia Hale and Clutilda Ramos, their husbands, Ian Hale and Jesus Ramos, three grandchildren Shani Gange, Tamia Jacques, and Alan Hale. She is also survived by her eight great grandchildren, Niara Hale, Lilou Jacques, Aedan Gagne, Ael Jacques, Chanelle Jacques, Elias Jacques, Nazareth Jacques, and Ellyce Jacques, her siblings, Erdie Davis, Aubrey Cornwall, and Gladstone Cornwall, her nephews, Richard and Caswell Davis Jr, and her nieces, Karen and Olive Davis.
Gurdalyn was skilled with knitting, crochet, loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, had a passion for gardening, and enjoyed entertaining her family and friends. Her passing will leave a huge void in our hearts, but the memories which we hold dear, will live on forever.
The family of Gurdalyn Victoria Stewart invites you to leave a message of condolence on the tribute wall created in her memory.
