Life long Sanford resident Grace Lucille Richardson, 80, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2014, at her daughter's home in Lake Mary, Florida. Born January 28, 1933, in Sanford, Florida, to Martha "Ruth" and T.O. Landress, Lucille enjoyed a wonderful life full of friends and family. She was a 1951 graduate of Sanford High School. At 14, her first job was at McCroy's downtown Sanford where she worked for 20 years. After graduation, she married Robert "Bob" Richardson on December 7, 1952, with one child, Brenda, eleven years later. Her passion was for her church Sanford Riverwalk Church of God, where she was a charter member. Her dedication to her faith and church was phenomenal through ladies ministry, Sunday School teacher, bus ministry, choir, custodian, and Christian school lunch lady. Her service as church and school custodian was for over twenty years. Mrs. Richardson also spent 6 years as a nanny for Jennifer and Lindsey Lanier, who she treated as her own grandchildren. She was the type of woman people could depend on for anything.
She was preceded in death by her parents Martha Hittell and Thomas Oscar Landress, her husband, Robert "Bob" Richardson, and two brothers, Cecil Landress and Kenneth "K.W." Landress. Surviving the loss are her daughter, Brenda Kay Richardson McGhee of Lake Mary, Florida; one sister Evelyn Bowen of Tennessee, five grandsons- John "J.W." McGhee of Sanford, FL, Benjamin McGhee, Jacob McGhee, Seth McGhee, and Enoch McGhee all of Lake Mary, FL, and one great grandson Bobby McGhee of Lake Mary, Fl.

Services for Mrs. Richardson are through DeGusipe Funeral Home, Sanford, Florida. Viewing is on Monday, January 27, at Brisson Memorial Chapel from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 28, 3PM at Riverwalk Church of God 801 West 22nd Street, Sanford, Florida. Reverend Wesley Tanksley and Reverend Victor Artreche affiliating. The family asks that you wear pink. Graveside following at Evergreen Cemetery, Sanford, Florida. She will be missed by many.
