Gonzalo J. Novoa, widower, loving and dedicated father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend left us on February 21, 2018. He was an Altamonte Springs resident for more than 40 years.

He is survived by his children Cristina Novoa, Pilar Novoa-McGee, Alfonso Novoa, Stella Michaud and Sandra Silver; his grandchildren Andrea Novoa, Alejandro Novoa, Jessica Michaud, Nicolas Anselmo, Kyle Silver, Zachary Silver, Jaclyn Silver; his siblings Ana T. Rivera, Stella Novoa, Mariela Forero and extended family members in Florida and Colombia.

Gonzalo Julio, also known to his family and friends as Pepé was born November 8, 1930 to Alfonso Novoa and Maria Antonia Molina. He was married to Maria, the love of his life, for 58 years. In 1976, he and his family moved to Florida, where he worked with Deep South Company for 18 years before retiring.

He loved to tinker with his tools in the garage and always considered himself the family's handyman. He had an engaging and charming personality making it easy for everyone to become his friend. He was an excellent storyteller mesmerizing everyone with his stories of the people and places he visited. He was an avid reader and enjoyed music.

His favorite past time was sports. Soccer was in his blood, as a young man he played at every opportunity he had and in his later years, he encouraged his children to love the sport. Although he loved his Colombian teams, he was a fervent fan of Barcelona. His greatest joy was the treasured time he spent with his family golfing.

His family was his greatest legacy and loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, living each day to the fullest.
