Gloria A. Child, 74, of Maitland, Florida passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
Gloria was born in Hamilton, Ohio to Anthony Fehrinbach and Martha Symmes Fehrinbach. She grew up in Fairfield, Ohio, with her older sister Sherry Rickert. She married J. Douglas Child in June 1968. They lived in Cincinnati and Pisgah, Ohio, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, and in Maitland, Florida.
Gloria received a bachelors degree from Miami of Ohio and a doctorate in Math Education from The University of Central Florida. Gloria's math teaching career started in Ohio at Greenhills Junior High, then moved to Colerain and Lakota High Schools. In 1973 Gloria and Doug moved to Florida where they both taught in and retired from the Mathematics Department of Rollins College.
Gloria is survived by her husband Doug, her daughter Lori Ann Child of Ponce Inlet, Florida, and her grandson Zakariya Douglas Child.
Gloria's interests included aquatics, competing, the beach, hiking, camping, tennis, bridge, Stephen Ministry, and various games.
