Obituary

Glenda W. Rusin passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 7, 2015 in Lake Mary, FL at the age of 81. Her family members comforted her for several weeks prior to her passing.
Glenda was born in Bradley, FL in 1933. She was the only child of Juanita C. Hudson and James W. Branch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benedict, (1970), and daughter, Patricia Ann, (1956). She is survived by her five children: Deborah (Dick) Riley, Leslie (Ravi) Nath, Kelly (Mark) Lane, Benedict Henry Rusin and Scott (Cheryl) Rusin. She was also proud to have eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Glenda's early years were spent in Florida; however, she resided in a number of different locations, including England after WW II.
Glenda met her husband, Ben, at Wayne Country Club in Pennsylvania, and they were married at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Catholic Church in Cheektowaga, NY on September 15, 1951. They lived in Cheektowaga for thirteen years before moving to Lockport, NY in 1964.
Both Glenda and Ben were active supporters of St. Bonaventure University and their basketball team in Olean, NY during the 1960's. Ben was a St. Bona's graduate in 1951. Glenda supported Ben as he helped scout talent for the university's basketball team.
Upon Ben's death in October 1970, Glenda continued to run her husband's sales business for a short period of time while raising five children.
She moved to Florida in 1971 and resided in the Tampa Bay area for three decades before retiring to central Florida. She worked mainly in the medical industry while continuing to raise her family.
Glenda never remarried. Her love for Ben endured over the years. She fought valiantly during her last days to share more time with her family. She passed in comfort and peace.
A Memorial Mass will be held on February 21, 2015 at All Souls Historic Catholic Chapel in Sanford, FL at 11:00 a.m.
A private reception will follow at her youngest daughter's home in Lake Mary, Fl.
Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Mulberry, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests a donation be made to Vitas Hospice in honor of their mother.
