Ms. Gladys DeJesús Jiménez, 77, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Gladys was born on January 3, 1937, in Marianao, Cuba, to parents Oscar Ramón Emilio Ferrer Jiménez and María Catalina Rodríguez Jiménez. The family moved to South Florida in 1960, where Gladys later worked as a paralegal for Storer Broadcasting Company. She relocated to Central Florida in 2003. Gladys was beloved by her circle of friends. She enjoyed gardening and most importantly, spending time with her family. She is survived by her two younger sisters, Gloria Butterfield and Georgina Atorresagasti, along with nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all who will remember her with love and miss her dearly. A visitation for Gladys will be held at the DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, from 10:30 am until 2 pm. A mass of remembrance will follow at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Avenue, Altamonte Springs, at 3 pm, followed by a reception in the church Annex.
