In Loving Memory of Gina Lantry

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gina Lantry, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, fiancé, stepmother, aunt, and cherished friend. Gina was a woman of deep compassion, known for her kind spirit, unwavering love for her family, and gentle heart.

Born in Indiana, Gina was the youngest of three siblings and spent her life bringing joy to others through her warmth, loyalty, and vibrant personality. She had a deep love for animals—especially her cats—and worked many years at the Humane Society, caring for and comforting those in need. Her creative soul flourished in the floral industry, and she found great joy in the garden sanctuary she created with her fiancé, David.

She is survived by her daughter Kasandra, her stepdaughter Sarah, her granddaughter Mary Jayne, her grandson Zayn, her fiancé David, her sister LaDonna, and her brother Brian. She also leaves behind her loving niece Brandy; nephews Ivan, David, and Devon; and her dearest friend, Andrea. Gina's presence was a gift to everyone who knew her, and her memory will forever live on in our hearts.

Remembering My Sister, Always and in All Ways

With a heavy heart, I stand here today to honor my sister, Gina — a woman who meant so many things to so many people. To me, she was my sister, my confidante, my friend, and at times, like a mother. To others, she was a devoted fiancé, a loving grandmother affectionately called "Mamoo," and a radiant soul who left an imprint on everyone she met.

As much as it hurts to say goodbye, I find comfort in remembering that with Gina, it's never truly goodbye. Our bond doesn't end here. Instead, I say, "I'll see you later."

For 58 beautiful years, I was blessed to walk this life with Gina by my side. She was loyal, loving, and unwaveringly devoted to her family. Always checking in on our brother Brian in Indiana, always calling me to share her day, her thoughts, her heart. Gina loved keeping us connected. I will miss those conversations deeply—her soft voice, her political updates, her warmth, and the way she'd tell me everything from the tiniest moment to the biggest joy.

Gina had a heart bigger than the world. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for the people she loved. Her love was generous, deep, and unconditional—and that love doesn't end here. It lives on in all of us.

She was a woman of quiet faith. Gina knew the Lord, carried Him in her heart, and was baptized as an infant in the Presbyterian church. Her gentle spirit and compassionate nature were reflections of that deep-rooted faith.

Born in Indiana, the youngest of three, Gina grew into a woman of grace, passion, and kindness. We shared daily traditions—phone calls, pedicures, birthday lunches at our favorite spots. These rituals were more than habits; they were sacred pieces of time that I will always hold close.

Gina adored her cats—they were her family, her babies. Only the best for them, always. She spent years working at the Humane Society, lovingly nursing sick cats back to health, helping them find homes. She had a special way of bringing hope and comfort to animals—and to people, too.

She had a creative spirit. Whether arranging flowers in the florist industry, tending to her garden, or cooking for family gatherings, Gina made everything more beautiful. Her home was a sanctuary of love, flowers, laughter, and warmth.

She found joy in the simple things: early morning walks in the park, sharing photos of butterflies and blossoms, building a garden sanctuary with her fiancé—her partner, her teammate. They were planning to be married this year. She was excited about life and full of love.

Gina was vibrant, youthful, fun, wise—a true therapist to her sister, and a light to be around. She was the kind of person who made you feel safe, heard, and cherished. And to know her was to love her.

There's not a flower she couldn't name or a feline she didn't know. But more than that, there wasn't a person she met that didn't feel her kindness and generosity.

Our loss is immense. Gina's absence leaves a space that can't be filled. But everything she gave us—her love, her laughter, her guidance—will stay in our hearts forever.

Gina was the kindest person I've ever known, and I will love her for all eternity. I will carry her in every memory, every whispered prayer, every flower I see, and every quiet moment we once shared.

She was the best of the best—for everyone lucky enough to have known her. Until we meet again, my sweet sister, I will hold you close in my heart. Always and in all ways.
