Gilbert Earl Adkins, 73, passed on October 08, 2022. He was born to Dee Adkins and Marjorie Adkins in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 10, 1949.

Gil was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather. He is survived by his wife Linda; his daughter Kristin; his son Stephen; daughter-in-law Heather; and his five grandchildren Bret, Matthew, Haley, Christopher and Sarah.

Gil's father was in the Navy, so Gil grew up in many countries, the US, Japan, England, and the Philippines. His father's last station was in Washington DC where he retired and the family settled in Falls Church, VA. This is where Gil and Linda met in High School. Gil and Linda started a Screen Printing Company in 1980. It is still going today, run by his son Stephen and Stephen's business partner Todd.

Gil was a member of Maitland Presbyterian Church since 1989. He served as an elder twice, was a Stephen Ministry and a Stephen Leader. He was a member of a Men's Small Group for 25 years and a Couple's Small Group for around 20 years. He served on many committees over the years.

Gil was an artist and loved creating things. He was always working on a painting, building or sculpting with wood or working with copper. His legacy will always surround us through his wonderful artworks.

Gil and Linda loved to spend time at the beach just relaxing. Family time was very important to him. Gil fought a mighty battle with cancer for almost 6 years. He is now pain free and with our Lord. He will be greatly missed.

The Family asks that donations be sent to MPC Stephen Ministry or Advent Health Hospice in Lieu of flowers.
