Mr. Ghanshyam Patel, loving husband, father, brother, and a dear friend to all, passed away on Friday, September 20th, 2019.

"Ganu" or "GR" as he was known to many, was born on December 18th, 1958 in Mombasa, Kenya to his parents, Ramanbhai and Vimlaben Patel. He grew up and completed his schooling in Mombasa after which he went off to Vidhyanagar, Gujarat, India, where he earned a Civil Engineering Degree from BVM College of Engineering. Following his father's footsteps and success, Ganu moved back to Mombasa, where he eventually mastered his father's lumber business, Kwale Saw Mill. Ganu married his loving wife Mita Patel, and raised his two sons, Ravish and Ronak. Following his father's passing, Ganu rose to the challenge and successfully ran the family business for many years. In 1999, Ganu made a grand leap of faith and moved his family to Orlando, Florida to provide a better educational future for his children. Ganu and his family have lived in the Orlando area for 20 years, during which he pursued several business ventures, including his most recent in hospitality management. He created a loving home for his wife and children, and made strong lifelong bonds with friends he has encountered along his life journey, many of which have become his family.

Ganu loved many things, but most of all, he cherished his wife, sons, family and friends, and the time he spent with them. He loved to eat (bring on the bajias, pizza, coke, and gallons of ice cream!), play golf, watch cricket, and just having a good time. Having grown up around the ocean in Kenya, Ganu was an avid swimmer and enjoyed the beach. He passed away doing what he absolutely loved - swimming in the ocean.

Everyone who met Ganu instantly became family to him, easily creating lifelong memories. He had a lighthearted, joyful, youthful, and easy-going personality that brought light to everyone around him. He is survived by his loving wife (Mita) his sons (Ravish and Ronak), and his beloved daughter-in-law (Monika), along with countless family and friends.

Our family asks that you remember not the sadness of his passing, but these wonderful memories and his bright smile. We sincerely appreciate all of your support during this difficult time, and ask that you share a meal with your family and friends full of love and laughter. This is what Ganu would have wanted.
