Gerald L. Skelton, Jr. (Jerry) of Longwood, Florida passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
His wife of 30 years, Barbara Ann and his sister Sharon Olsson of New Hampshire was by his side when he received his wings.
Gerald was born in Scranton, PA to the Late Gerald L. Skelton, Sr. and MaryAnn Skelton on August 11, 1953.
Gerald inlisted in the Army, 101 Airborne, on February 24, 1972. He spent all of his enlistment in Giessen, Germany.
After moving to Longwood, Florida in 1998 he was employed by Universal Orlando as a "Ride Technician" and then up until his illness he was employed by the "Sherwin Williams" company in Longwood.
Gerald was an avid Nascar and Green Bay Packers fan, but most of all his passion was watching his Grandson's baseball games. He also was an avid American History buff.
His true passion was his wife, Barbara Ann, his family, especially his Grandchildren.
Also surviving is his sister Sharon, Brother; David Skelton of Moscow, PA, stepson; Lane H. Reinert, Daughter-in-law; Brenda Reinert, Grandsons; Zachary and Brady Reinert of Apopka, Florida, Ryan Williams of Scranton, PA, Granddaughters; Taylor Marie and Brittney Reinert of Lake Ariel, PA and Merissa Phillips of Fort Collins, Colorado, Brother-in-law; Charles Crowley and Sister-in-law Katherine Crowley of Mascotte, Florida.
Gerald left behind several Nieces and Nephews whom he adored.
Gerald was preceded in death by his Stepson; Darren W. Reinert of Lake Ariel, PA.
Gerald loved and was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.
Cremation will be conducted at DeGusipe Funeral Home & Crematory.
