Gerald "Gerry" Williams, 78, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2021, with his family by his side at AdventHealth Hospice Care in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Gerry was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada on October 21, 1942 to Cyril "Bud" Williams and Elizabeth Jane Williams (Eansor).
He grew up in Windsor and upon graduating, moved to Detroit, MI where he carried on a successful career in advertising. Gerry won many awards for his advertising and creativity. He then went on to be a very successful manufacturers representative in the roofing field. Gerry was highly respected in the construction trade and won several awards for his years of work in the industry.
In 1976, Gerry met the love of his life, Linda Parsons Williams, while in Texas. The couple married in 1978 and celebrated 43 years of marriage this past June.
Gerry was always happy when "with his girls." He was so proud of his daughters and granddaughters. Gerry loved sports and could often be found having a cold beer or a nice glass of wine while watching "anything with at least two people and a ball in it." He enjoyed playing golf, cooking and doing the daily crossword puzzle. Gerry was a 4th Degree Knight at St. Patrick Council of the Knights of Columbus, Apopka.
Gerry was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Elizabeth Williams and is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Williams (Parsons); daughters Stephanie Williams (Jason Lewis), Theresa Williams (Patricia Annisette), Juli Kreutner (George) and Lori Chomick; his special daughter and fishing buddy, Missy Jackson; granddaughters Azalynn Lewis, Jenna Birkner and Jade Plaseski (Cody) and his great-grandson, Carter; brothers James "Jim" Williams (Shirley), Bob Williams (John Szegner), and Ted Williams, and sister Betsy Grafflin; his special nieces Tammy, Jennifer and Lindsay; and his many cherished and loved cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made in Gerry's honor to Share the Care, where he went to daily class the past several years, 1524 Formosa Ave, Winter Park, FL 33789; or to AdventHealth Hospice Inpatient Unit, 605 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.
Service will be held October 29, 2021 at 9:00am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 6803 Old Highway 441 S, Mount Dora, FL 32757. All are welcome to attend. The service will also be live-streamed for those that cannot attend:
