Obituary

George K. Gleason of Orlando, Florida, passed away on April 1st, 2021 at his home with his life partner, Liz Davis by his side. He was born in Buffalo New York on July 26th, 1941 to George L. and Margaret O. (Kelly) Gleason.

After George graduated high school, he went on to the University of Buffalo. After graduating he joined the U.S. Air Force. He was very fond of his time in service, and of his career with United Airlines, which spanned almost 40 years.

He married his sweetheart Judith Meidenbauer in 1966. They had two children, George, Jr. and Kimberly. George had many hobbies that he loved; he was an avid dart player, golfer, bowler, and some of his greatest moments were spent playing poker with his buddies at VFW Post 4287. All the rest of the time, he was either traveling with United Airlines or fulfilling his greatest love - - cruising.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret O. Gleason, and George L. Gleason and his wife, Judith Meidenbauer Gleason. He is survived by his children George Jr., and Kimberly Gleason Flood, and her husband Matt; two grandchildren Alyssa and David. He is also survived by his cousin Sally Gates; brother-in-law Kenny Meidenbauer, and his wife Ann; and sister-in-law Sandy Gondek. And finally Liz Davis, his life partner who shared the last wonderful 18 years of his life with him.

George will be cremated at the DeGusipe Funeral Home and his ashes will be taken to the family burial plot in Buffalo, New York. He requested no services at his death, so we are carrying out his wishes.

Rest in peace my love. You will never be forgotten.
