George E. Gillispie, 74 of Apopka, Florida passed away, Saturday, September 23, 2017. Mr. Gillispie was born February 22, 1943 in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to Omar and Hager (Combs) Gillispie.

George was predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy of 48 years; his father Omar; and his brother Ray Gillispie.

He is survived by his mother; Hager Gillispie (100 years old); His children; Rick Griffin (Julie) of Indiana; Karen Gillispie of Indiana, Cheryl Reed of Florida; Vicki Bright of Kentucky; Melissa Stone of Georgia and Joanna Alacorn of Florida. Brothers; Leonard, Carl and Jimmy Gillispie.

10 Grandchildren; George, Lisa, Michelle, Cherissa, Rachel, Ricky, Jarred, Matthew, Ashley, and Joshua.

4 Great Grandkids; Xander, Xavier, Aiden, Grayson and two babies on the way!

George was loved by many. He was funny and always played practical jokes on people. His biggest passion was his family and he was proud of each and every one of them.

He will now be joined with the love of his life, Dorothy. George will be cherished and missed forever. May he rest in peace ~ Until we meet again.
