Obituary

On December 6, 2018, George "Mike" Carman, loving husband, father of two children and grandfather of 6 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 69.

Mike was born in March 9, 1949 to Anna and Terry Carman in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Bishop David High School in 1967. He married Martha Ann Becht on December 2, 1967. They raised two children, Laura and Edward. Mike started a 34-year career with Piedmont and USAir airlines in 1968. After retiring from the airlines, Mike became an Altamonte Springs park ranger for eight years. In retirement, Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Kiwanis.

Mike was passionate about cooking, music and art. After becoming a park ranger, he shared his love of food by creating a cooking class for the special needs population of Seminole County. His classes were filled with laughter, fun and food. To channel his love of music, Mike became a night time DJ for the "I Grew Up on the West Side of Louisville" group. Mike enjoyed painting and pencil sketching and shared that passion with his family. He never met a stranger and was always quick to share a smile and a joke with anyone he met.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Terry, and his mother, Anna. He is survived by his wife Martha, his two children, Laura Carman Anderson and Edward Carman, son in law Robert Anderson, daughter in law Meghan McAdams Carman, siblings Patti Pohl, Sandy Skaggs, Greg Carman, Jimmy Carman and Kathleen McGrath, his grandchildren Mitchell Anderson, Brooke Anderson, Rachel Anderson, Alrik Anderson, Terrance and Eva Carman, as well as many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
