George Raemond Achang Albert, aged 83 years, who resided in Maracaibo, Venezuela, passed away on 25th February 2021 in Orlando, Florida, USA.

Known by many as "Rae", "Georgie", "Reymundo", "Chino", and "Daddy George",
George was born on 31st. August 1937 in Port of Spain, Trinidad. He was the son of George Sr. and Sylvia Mae Achang who are both deceased.

As a young man, while attending Fatima College in Trinidad, George was a sea scout, and a very good one at that, showing he was an excellent leader. He reveled in all manners of sport including competitive cycling, cricket, football and lawn tennis. He had a very good singing voice and played a mean harmonica. He loved Carnival and played, in disguise, for many years often constructing/making his own costumes. He loved the steelband and played a mean tenor pan. After leaving Fatima College in Trinidad, George began his banking career at Barclays Bank in Trinidad in 1956.

In 1960, he migrated to Venezuela and joined Citibank in Maracaibo in 1962. He held numerous management positions at Citibank, working at that bank in Maracaibo, Trinidad and Barbados. He also had a short stint at Royal Bank. After retiring from banking, he worked in the oil industry at management level and then as a director for many years at National Oilwell Varco. He became a valued mentor and leader to many. He proved to be selfless, giving guidance and support to anyone who wanted to learn and grow in their chosen profession. George's perseverance, mentorship and hard, diligent work are some of his most admirable characteristics, skills that he readily shared with everyone.

He loved his wife, Lily, to the extreme. They were married for 57 years. He cared for and loved his four children, George Richard, Roger Denis, Debora Lily and Gustavo Lee. He doted on all his grand children. He was the brother of Patsy (dec'd), Doreen (dec'd), Winston, Janet and Anthony (dec'd).

He loved playing golf which turned into a passion. He loved good food.

We will greatly miss his presence and constant affection for everyone. His kind and thoughtful gestures will be remembered and valued in our hearts forever. The legacy he instilled in the Achang family, extended families and friends will never be forgotten. His incredible stories will continue to be passed on from generation to generation.

De joven, mientras atendia Fatima College en Trinidad, George era un scout marino y uno muy bueno, mostrando siempre sus cualidades de excelente lider.

El se deleitaba con varios deportes que incluian ciclismo, cricket, futbol y tenis. Poseia una buena voz para el canto y disfrutaba tocando la harmonica. Le encantaba el Carnaval y participaba amenamente muchas veces y por varios a?os realizando sus propios disfraces. El adoraba el steelband y tocaba el mean tenor pan. Luego que culmino sus estudios en Fatima College en Trinidad, George comenzo su carrera en el Barclays Bank de Trinidad en 1956.

En 1960, migro a Venezuela y comenzo en Citibank de Maracaibo en 1962. Estuvo en numerosas posiciones gerenciales en Citibank, en Maracaibo, Trinidad y Barbados. Tambien laboro por un breve periodo en el Royal Bank en Maracaibo. Luego de retirarse de la banca, trabajo en el area de la industria petrolera a nivel gerencial y como director por varios a?os. Se convirti? en un mentor invaluable y lider para muchos. El mostro ser desinteresado, generoso, dando siempre guia, consejos y ense?anzas a quienes quisieran aprender y crecer en sus carreras. La perseverancia de George, mentoria y arduo trabajo eran algunas de sus caracteristicas mas admirables.

El amaba a su esposa Lily, al extremo. Estuvieron casados por 57 a?os. El se preocupaba y amaba a sus cuatro hijos, George Richard, Roger Denis, Debora Lily y Gustavo Lee. El adoraba a todos sus nietos. Era hermano de Patsy (fallecida), Doreen (fallecida), Winston, Janet y Anthony (fallecido).

Adoraba jugar golf y era su pasion. Le encantaba una buena comida.

Extra?aremos su presencia y constante afecto hacia todos. Sus gestos nobles seran recordados y valorados en nuestros corazones por siempre. El legado que dejo en la familia Achang, familias extendidas y amigos nunca seran olvidados. Sus historias increibles continuaran y pasaran de generacion en generacion.
