Obituary

After a long and somber battle, we announce the unfortunate death of our father, Genousse Cambronne, surrounded by God, family, and love. At just 64 years old, he passed away shortly after midnight on April 28, 2025.

Dad was born in Petion-Ville, Haiti on Jan 2, 1961. His father, Gerard Cambronne, a respected man of God and servant to the community, was well-loved by all and his mother, Thermacile Cambronne passed away early on. In search of work, Gerard Cambronne left Haiti to provide for the family. In the midst of adolescence, Dad became a leader for his family.

Geno was a positive role model for everyone. Determined, intelligent, kind, humorous, and being wise beyond his years are all qualities that describe the type of man he was. He went by Dja, Mon uncle, Ju, or Geno. Whatever you knew our father by, he encouraged you to want better for yourself and achieve your dreams. Tirelessly, he poured into the advancement of himself, his family, and others.

From an early age, he understood the value of family and education. Geno completed high school in Haiti, where he also studied Accounting and graduated with honors. Before moving to America, he worked as an Accountant. Dad would eventually moved to America when he was 25 years old in 1986. In a new world full of distractions, he remained focused on his goals. He learned English, worked multiple jobs, and provided for his family, all while obtaining a Master's in Accounting. He would obtain a real estate license, but because of the economic downturn around 2009, he was forced to pivot to Nursing. Our dad was forced to start over many times, but he never lost faith and continued to work hard to provide for his family. Dad enjoyed sports, reading, learning, and due to his love of family and friendship, he thoroughly enjoyed surprises and spending quality time. He will be deeply missed by many people.

Geno Cambronne is survived by his wife, Bernadette Paul Cambronne; 2 sons, James Cambronne and Kevin Cambronne; 2 brothers, Jean Claude Cambronne, and Terry Cambronne; 2 sisters, Martha Cambronne Noel and Nicole Cambronne Thompson; nephews, Stephen Thompson and Yony Poulard; nieces, Melissa Cambronne Title, Nelly Shanika Cambronne Hodge, Maygan Cambronne Halloway, Hannah Torres Cambronne, Suzelie Dume, Sophora Petion, Mootina Petion, Saintcyr, Jessica Petion Cherisier, Yony Poulard, and Shekina Poulard; brothers-in-law, Richard Thompson and Mark Noel; sisters-in-law, Noelzina Jean Cambronne and Lucia Torres Cambronne; and ex-wife, Tania Cayo Cambronne.
