Mr. Gene Everett Baker was born on May 31, 1935 in Saginaw, Michigan. He passed away on December 30, 2013 in Orlando, Florida.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Baker and Rosemary Scott Baker and two sons, Brian Keith Baker and Steven Gene Baker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara Fishero; daughter, Karen Baker Diehl; son and daughter-in-law, Paul Eugene and Debra Brown Baker; brother, Gary Thomas Baker in Marquette, Michigan; sisters, Laura Felton Oakes of Eustis, Florida and Nancy Letourneau of Orlando, Florida; his aunts, Marian Christenson of Traverse City, Michigan, Gladys Baker of Deckerville, Michigan, and Mae Seidel of Phoenix, Arizona; grandson, Dallas Gavin Baker; two granddaughters, Stacie Diehl and Brittany Diehl; and two great-grandsons, Anthony Sanchez Diehl and Michael Alexander Rodriguez.

Gene graduated from what is now called UCF, and he worked for Lockheed Martin for 20 years. He never retired. He just started a rental career. Gene helped many people over his 78 years. He always smiled and never judged anyone. He loved classical music, and he attended the opera and the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra. Gene will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
