Gary L. Miller 69 of St. Petersburg passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at home with his loving family at his side. He moved here in 1984 from his native Moline, Illinois. Gary served his country honorably in the United States Army stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post 252. He was a sheet metal worker and retired in 2002.
He enjoyed golfing, was an avid Chicago White Sox fan as a kid, and became an avid Tampa Bay Ray�s fan after moving to Florida. He was also a lifelong Chicago Bears fan. He coached Little League Baseball for many years in Pinellas Park.
Preceeded in death by his father, Paul E. Miller. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Linda; he was a devoted father of a daughter and her partner, Andrea Miller and Jennifer Durante; a son and daughter-in-law, Lance and Angel Miller; and grandchildren Paul and Cameron Miller. Also survived by his mother, Charlotte Miller, Moline, IL; a sister and brother-in-law, Jerri and Tom Watson, St. George, UT and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 1 P.M. until service time at 2 P.M. Interment will be later at Bay Pines National Cemetery with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice or The Kidney Foundation.
