Freddy Vega, 67, of Longwood Florida, passed away in his home on May 11, 2015 as a result of a long battle with Cancer. He was born in Tocopilla, Chile to Angelina and Teofilo Vega.

Freddy came to the United States of America in 1975 and met Jacqueline (wife) at a New Years Eve party at midnight of January 1, 1977. They were soon married on January 13, 1978. They raised two children Jezenia and Kristian. He lived in New Orleans, LA; Tampa, FL; and Orlando, FL. Throughout his life he made strong friendship bonds that he stills has to this day. He was a great man and brought laughter even in the most serious situations. He believed in living his life through happiness and caring for others.

Freddy is survived by his father Teofilo Vega, his brother Julio Vega (and his family), his sister Cristina Vega, his other sister Angelica Vega (and her family), his wife Jacqueline Vega, his daughter Jezenia Smith (Jeffrey), his son Kristian Vega (Amy) and his 5 grandchildren Patrick Kelly, Victoria Vega, SamaraVega, LutherVega, and Ryan Smith.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by DeGusipe funeral home in Maitland, FL. The Funeral service mass will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Annunciation Catholic Church at 9:30 am. The family asks that you consider donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Hospice of the Comforter or the Cancer Society.
