Obituary

On April 14th Fred Cellamare, beloved father and friend of many, passed away at the age of 87.

Fred was born in Utica New York and was the youngest child of seven. He worked in the theater business for many of his early years, which included the famous UpTown Theatre on Genessee Street in Utica NY. However, the nearest and most dearest job was being the manager of the Marcy Drive-In Theater. It was here where he met his beloved wife Marie. After sneaking in and being caught in the trunk of a friend's car, Marie was taken to the office, on first sight Fred fell in love with her immediately. Soon after they were married and spent 53 wonderful years together before Marie's passing in 2016.

Family was the most important part of Fred's life. It was very obvious to many that children completed his dream. After being blessed with a son, (Scott,) and a daughter, (Anne,) the family moved to Florida to be closer to relatives. It is here, where Fred created a fun loving life. He was a "Jack of all Trades", the family would say. From working twenty years at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, being an owner and a barber at Brentwood Barber Shop and working for the City of St. Petersburg as a grounds keeper for Sunken Gardens, all of these experiences only showcase a little of his exciting life. Fred also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, a singer for multiple musical organizations including the Barbershop Quartet and a volunteer for the Saint Petersburg Police Department Road Patrol.

Fred was known for his love for family and friends, love for the church, compassion to help others, love to travel, love of cars, love of his garden and his love of animals, this includes his sidekick who is missing him terribly, Cocoa. We will all miss Fred's big heart and infectious smile.
