Frank Roger Burnett, son of the late Roger and Margaret R. (Boyer) Burnett, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 1, 1931. He married Gwendolyn Wagner on April 21, 1962. He departed this life on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Frank lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Moorestown, New Jersey. He retired to Orlando, Florida in 2002.
Frank graduated from Northeast High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1949. After graduation, Frank served proudly in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in September 1954. Following his service in the Navy, Frank attended Pennsylvania State University after which he had a long career as a systems analyst with General Electric and R.H. Donnelly Corporation. After retiring from R.H. Donnelly, Frank embarked on a second career with the Philadelphia Seaport Museum and the Philadelphia Museum of Natural Sciences.
Frank will be remembered as a dignified, proud, highly intelligent and humble man. Also, he will be remembered for his quiet resolve, love of sports; especially football and track and field. He was a Christian who deeply loved and gave his all for his family.
Frank leaves to cherish his memory his beloved and devoted wife, Gwendolyn and his children, Dr. Judith Burnett (Kelvin Manning) of Oviedo, Florida and John Burnett of Herndon, Virginia. They have four grandchildren, David and Rachel Manning and Jordan and Justin Burnett (mother Lydia); sister-in-law, Gail Seeney (William); nieces, Joelle Wagner-Lynch (son Robert) and Terri Seeney-Majette (Eric); nephew, Joshua Seeney (children Jazmyne, LaReyna, and Justis), and many cherished family members and friends.
A private memorial service is planned for May 21, 2021 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make an offering of your time or treasure to a charity of your choice.
