Obituary

Francis E. Paladino, Age 82 of Winter Park, died peacefully on December 23rd, 2017 with his family by his side.
Fran was born in Elmira, New York on July 15, 1935, the son of the late Joseph and Lucille (Sage) Paladino. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Janet; his sons Phillip (Julie) with children Benjamin, Lucas, Matthew and Elizabeth; David (Diana) with children Garrett and Grant; Steven (Tracy) with children Ryan and Michael and his daughter, Ann (Cortland) Byram with children Katelyn and Erica. He is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Fran was a 1957 graduate of Clarkson College. He proudly served his country as an officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 3 years. After serving in the Army, he began a 35 year career in the glass container industry. He received the Award of Excellence for his contributions to quality control at Ball Corporation and managed a technology exchange program that included companies in Japan and France. He retired from Ball as the Vice President of Operations and Engineering in 1995. He then started his own consulting company and was responsible for leading the turnaround of Vidro Formas in Lerma, Mexico.
Fran and his wife Janet retired to Ocean Grove, New Jersey where he enjoyed volunteering with many organizations. His favorite of these was the Ocean Grove Fishing Club where he enjoyed fishing and teaching children to fish.
Fran was very proud of his family and treasured every moment he got to spend with them. He will be warmly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Friends are invited to DeGusipe Funeral Home in Maitland, Florida on Wednesday, December 27th from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 28th at 10:00 am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park. Interment will follow in Elmira, NY.
