Frances Hearn Williamson
July 18, 1937 – May 18, 2025
Frances Hearn Williamson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted educator, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born in Plant City, Florida, on July 18, 1937, Frances graduated from Plant City High School in 1955 and went on to earn a teaching degree from Florida State University in 1959. While at FSU, she was an active member of the Kappa Delta sorority and formed lifelong friendships.
After college, Frances moved to Atlanta, where she met the love of her life, John Williamson. They were married in her hometown of Plant City in 1963 and celebrated their honeymoon in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Together, they built a joyful life and raised two sons, John and Mark.
In 1972, the Williamson family joined Maitland Presbyterian Church, where Frances served faithfully on numerous church committees and formed a deep and lasting community.
Frances dedicated 20 years to teaching second grade at Altamonte Elementary School, where she left a lasting impact on generations of students.
A woman of many talents and passions, Frances was an avid golfer and a proud member of Rolling Hills Country Club. She also found joy in playing bridge, participating in her Circle group, and being a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for professional women educators. Her love of travel took her and her family around the world, and she was known for her remarkable skills in the kitchen—especially her cooking and baking, which brought warmth and joy to every gathering.
Frances is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, John Williamson; her sons, John Williamson of Fargo, Georgia, and Mark Williamson (Michelle) of Altamonte Springs, Florida; and her cherished grandchildren: Sellers (Arslan) Valimohamad, Spencer Williamson, Helen Williamson, and Campbell Williamson. She is also survived by her sister, Janet (Dick) Aldinger of Orlando, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Frances's life will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Maitland Presbyterian Church, 341 N. Orlando Ave., Maitland, FL 32751.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Maitland Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice.
