Obituary

Frances (Fran) Morro
February 24, 1929 – January 20, 2016

Frances (Fran/The Babe) Morro passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at the age of 86. As the matriarch of the family, she leaves a gaping hole in the hearts and lives of the many people who loved her.

Born February 24, 1929 in Brooklyn, New York, to Ignazio and Rosa D'Agate. Frances moved to Long Island with her husband and two sons, and then eventually to Florida in 1975, where she lived the rest of her life with her family. She was married to her one true love, Dr. Mike Morro, who liked to refer to her as his "Sunshine" for 64 years. Dr. Morro a World War II veteran, had re-enlisted in the Navy for the second time as Commander of the Naval Hospital
Orlando, hence Frances and Mike's move to Florida.

She leaves behind two sons, Michael and Brian (Laurie), four grandsons, Jason (Kristin), Mike, Dylan and RJ (Mariah), and one great grandson, 3 month old Max... who was a sparkling joy in her life these last few months.

Frances was all about family and friends. She was loyal to each and every one of them, but especially fiercely loyal to her family. Fran and Mike both passed down the importance of family and loyalty to their sons and grandsons. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that any family could ever want.

Her mission in life was to make everyone happy, no matter what it took; good food, presents, or just some one on one time with them... especially when it came to her grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she loved them very much. She was always concerned, that they should be happy, and had everything they needed. And when Kristin married her oldest grandson Jason, she was thrilled to welcome such a loving, caring, wonderful granddaughter into the family. "Babe" as close family members affectionately liked to call her, being the baby of four siblings, was a very giving, caring, and generous person with a big heart all of her life.

She was very competitive when it came to games of Scrabble, Spades, Rummy or a friendly game of Mah Jong. Frances was always at her best and had fun when playing games. And Fran loved to read; especially anything written by Nora Roberts/J.D. Robb, which she loved to share with others.

Frances was a Catholic, and for 37 years she threw a huge party on December 8th, The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. This she did in honor of her beloved husband Mike, who she loved very much... and a pact she made with the Blessed Virgin Mary to heal him of cancer. She kept her commitment to the end of her life.

When people that knew and loved Frances remember her, they will know...To love and be loved, is to feel the sun from both sides. She was a beautiful soul and a kindhearted loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. No one loved more intensely than Frances did, especially when it came to her family.
