Obituary

Frances G. McTaggart Nickoloff

Frances, fondly known as "Gerry", passed away gracefully at the sweet age of 95, in the presence of her family on September 26, 2021. She was born on December 29, 1925 to Eldon & Gladys Price in Little Rock, Arkansas.

At a young age Gerry enlisted in the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps, appreciating the structure, discipline & training it offered. Following her discharge, the new veteran met the love of her life Innis McTaggart (Mac) when applying for a position at a doctor's office in Mobile, Alabama. They were married 4 months later. Innis was from a large family in the Cayman Islands, where they spent the majority of their years. Gerry partnered with Mac & established the first Optical Practice to serve the people of the Cayman Islands & Bay Islands of Honduras. She also utilized her medical training to provide nursing care to the people on Grand Cayman.

To this blessed couple were born 5 children; Michael, Stephen, Stephanie (Yost), Molly (Jordan) & Mark.

In 1995, after 51 years of marriage, Innis preceded her in death. Gerry later married Nicola Nickoloff of Montana in 1998. They were married 23 years at the time of her death. With this marriage added step-children George & Charmaine (Picard).

Gerry's guiding focus in life was to unabashedly Praise & Glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. She was the spiritual mentor for many & the loving matriarch of her family. She lived her life by her own self-written motto "Love is acceptance, not agreement". She loved unconditionally, looking past ones' faults, always trying to see others through the eyes of Jesus.

To all who walked through the doors of her home, she offered her famous relaxing foot rubs and throughout her life she loved, cared, & nursed back to health many friends & strangers that God brought to her. In spite of the daily pain, her dimming vision & fleeting memory, should you ask her how she was doing, her response was predictable; "Honey, I'm so thankful!" Thankful...that was her favorite word.

The appreciation she had for God's Creation; people, animals & nature was evident and from this spring of Thanksgiving, flowed an abundance of poetry. A few of these were featured in her book "THE GARDENER OF MY HEART", co-authored by Karen Hadad.

Her earthly legacy leaves 7 children, 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren & 10 great great grandchildren!

When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be!
