Obituary

Frances A. Hale of Altamonte Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026. She was 89. She is survived by her husband Donald E. Hale with whom they shared sixty-eight (68) wonderful years together with sixty-four (64) of those years in marriage.

Born in Scranton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Mae Barrett Quinn and a graduate of South Catholic High School in Scranton, PA. Her life was dedicated to being a devoted wife and mother. Throughout her professional and personal life, she was known for being kind and empathetic. She was especially proud of her seventeen (17) years as a Customer Service Representative with the Florida Power Corporation in Winter Park, FL. Fran and Don were both committed to Catholic education as their three daughters all graduated from St. Mary Magdalen Catholic School in Altamonte Springs, FL and all four children graduated from Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando, FL. Fran loved her parish family at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. She had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother and attended daily Mass. In addition to being a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she was a loving aunt, a great friend, and a good neighbor.

Survivors include a son, Donald J. Hale and wife Stacy, three daughters, Christine Shields and husband Tim, Maureen Mäensivu-Crain and husband Bobby, and Jennifer Elliott and husband Matt. She had twelve grandchildren: Mikaela Mäensivu, Savannah Rosamond, Benjamin King (deceased), Angela King, Maverick Mäensivu, Lydia King, Ana Hale, Aidan Hale, Quinn Mäensivu, Brendan Hale (deceased), Emmalee Elliott and Liam Elliott and one great-grandchild, Walker Rosamond. Fran loved her loyal and dedicated Golden Retrievers, Ellie and Sahara.

Fran was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Quinn Collins, Ann Quinn Cadden, Joan Quinn Cottone and two brothers Joseph E. Quinn and Thomas P. Quinn. They were very close.

There will be a Mass on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Altamonte Springs, FL. There will be a gravesite service immediately afterwards at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park, FL.
