Les was born to Nancy and Joseph Ford in Louisville, Kentucky on June 20th, 1940. He passed away January 22nd, 2018, surrounded by family in Clermont, Florida.
Throughout the years Les did it all. He loved serving his community in all ways. He served in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division, he was a firefighter, an arson investigator, he owned his own tax business at one time in his life, and he was a retired deputy and current background investigator for the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Through serving his community by working, he also served as a man of God. He attended many churches throughout his life but felt so at home in his home church, Glad Tidings. Here at Glad Tidings he attended many Sunday church services, Wednesday night services, and early morning men's prayer breakfasts, among many other things. Les loved to worship God and did so in every aspect of his life. Les was a family man who loved each and every one of his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids dearly.
Les was preceded in death by his mother; Nancy Ford, his father; Joseph Ford, and his brother; Cecil Ford. He is survived by his wife of 43 years; Rose Anna Ford, their three sons; Joseph Ford, Melvin Carver, and Eugene Ford (Abbie), his siblings; Dudley Ford (Connie) and Paula, his eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
