TIRABASSI, Florence Leland Befay passed away December 18, 2018. She was born in Meyersdale, PA. She and her husband Otto R. Leland, Jr. moved to St. Petersburg in 1950 from Norfolk, VA, they owned several business downtown. Otto passed away in 1972. In 1975 she married August Tirabassi of Melrose Park, IL. They moved to Kenneth City from Melrose Park in 1985. August passed away in 1993. In 2000 she married Gerald Befay. They divorced. She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Transfiguration. She tutored Pinellas Park Middle School and Hi Point Elementary School. She was a member of the Widowed Social Club of St. Pete, Penna Society Club, Womens Club of Kenneth City, and the 43 Senior Citizens club, and Kenneth City Social Club. She retired from J.C. Penney after 24 years of service. She is survived by her daughter Beverly Herman of Kenneth City, and son Gary C. (Kim)Leland of St. Petersburg; Six grandchildren, Michelle Herring, Albert Herman, Andrea Herman, Jennifer Collette, all of St. Petersburg, Jason Leland of Covington, OH, and Kristen Mattice of Zephyrhills; 12 great grandchildren, and a niece Judy Bornmon of O' Brien, FL; grand niece Tracy Boyd of Lenox, GA. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm, Friday, December 21, 2018 at R. Lee Williams & Son Funeral Home, 3530 49th. Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33710. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Catholic Church of the Transfiguration, 4000 43rd. Street, St. Petersburg, FL 33714. Interment will follow to Memorial Park Cemetery.
