Florence Marie Stabile of Orlando passed away at home on December 17, 2013. She was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on August 2, 1924. She was preceded in death by Samuel, her husband of 65 years, brother Dean, and sister Gloria. Flo, as she liked to be called, is survived by her three children and their families: daughter Carole Stabile Libelo and grandchildren Rachel and Christopher Libelo of Waldorf, MD; daughter Terri Stabile of Oviedo, FL; son and daughter-in-law Don and Joyce Edwards Stabile and granddaughters Kailey and Kristina Stabile of Oviedo, FL. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy of San Diego, CA.

Flo graduated from Seton Hill College in Greensburg, PA. She majored in speech and drama and minored in French. She taught English and foreign languages at the secondary level in both Pennsylvania and Florida. Flo's passion for acting saw her star in a variety of leading and character roles in a number of community theatre productions. She also directed plays and tableaux in the schools and at church.
Flo and her husband Sam spent many of their retirement years as active parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Apopka, FL. They helped to establish a food pantry that is still active at the church. Flo was fervent in getting to know the food bank visitors and helping to assess and meet their needs.
Flo had a zest for life that was infectious. She never met a person who wasn't an instant friend. Her welcoming smile invited others to join in her happiness.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life for both Flo and Sam on Sunday January 19, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Twin Rivers Golf Club, 2100 Ekana Drive, Oviedo, Florida 32765.
