Faye Lynette Roberts (Granberry), known affectionately to her friends as Lynette,
passed away peacefully on March 17, 2026, at AdventHealth Hospice in Altamonte
Springs, Florida, at the age of 80. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on July 15, 1945,
Lynette lived a life marked by service, adventure, and a deep love for the natural world.
A woman of compassion and conviction, Lynette served in the Peace Corps, dedicating
herself to making a difference in communities far from home. Her commitment to
service reflected a generous spirit that touched the lives of many throughout her
journey.
Lynette had an adventurous heart. She found joy in hiking through forests, traveling to
new places and immersing herself in different cultures. She particularly treasured
opportunities to speak Spanish with native speakers, delighting in authentic connections
and conversations that bridged languages and cultures. Those who knew Lynette will
remember her love of nature and the outdoors. Whether on a trail or in quiet
contemplation of the natural world, she found peace and purpose in the beauty around
her.
Lynette was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Stanford Granberry, and her
mother, Faye Granberry. She was previously married to James Roberts.
She is survived by her sister, Judy Granberry Sladen; her brother, Stanford Granberry;
her two sons, Chris Roberts (Ann) and Josh Roberts (Terri); and her granddaughter.
They will carry forward her legacy of curiosity, kindness, and love for the world.
Her spirit of adventure, her warmth, and her genuine care for others will be deeply
missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held by the family.
