Evelyn Paula Mead Shaw, 91 years old, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015 in Maitland, Florida.
She was born November 12, 1923 in White Plains, New York.
She recently has been a resident of Savannah Court retirement home in Maitland, and died after declining health and heart failure.
Her parents were Henry L. Mead and Florence Mead of Burling Ave., White Plains.
Evelyn grew up in White Plains, taking winter months with her parents in St. Petersburg, FL,
and attending high school there. She graduated from White Plains High School and continued
on to Jr. college. She married Robert A. Flower in 1946.
Evelyn was a very active member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, White Plains,
loved antiques, singing, and Jazz. In her later years she loved to collect dolls as a hobby.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula Flower Pinter,and spouse, Steven Pinter of Nokomis, FL,
son William Robert Flower and Heidi Flower, spouse, of Plymouth, CT and son James Andrew
Flower and Joanne Flower, spouse, of W. Bountiful, UT
Her grandchildren Geoffrey Alban Collins, Nashville, TN, Elizabeth Gullett, Portland, TN,
Emily Flower Pomeroy, Terryville, CT, Eleanor Flower Riker, Bristol, CT, Justin Garstka, North
Ogden, UT, Jason Garstka, Falcon, CO, Ashley Flower, W. Bountiful, UT, and 14 great-grand
children- Tyler, Clayton, Brayden, David, Evelyn, William, Harry, Rose, Nolan, Owen, Caleb, Dominic, Kayleigh and Alan.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her second husband David Shaw who died in 1998.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Lake Mary, FL.
DeGusipe Funeral Home is in charge of final arrangements. No service is planned at this time.
She lived a full life and we loved her dearly.
