Evelyn Lorene Brignull, 88 of Winter Park, Florida passed away Monday, May 18, 2015.
Daughter of the late Edward and Lillian Brignull, she was born January 26th, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1929 the family moved to Trenton, TN where she attended Elementary School and graduated from Peabody High School.
Evelyn was a graduate of Stephens College, Columbia, MO and received her Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Spanish from the University of Alabama with further study at the National University of Mexico, Mexico City.
Her first teaching position was at Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia in Fredericksburg. She was also Director of the Spanish Language House.
In 1955 she secured a position at Whittier College, Whittier, CA where she was Spanish Instructor for two years, then joining the Staff at Fullerton Union High School District, CA. She taught there until her retirement in 1986. During this time she also served as Chairperson of the Language Department. Moving to Longwood in 1987 she became an active member of Wekiva Presbyterian Church serving as Deacon, Member of the Chancel Choir and Outreach Committee.
Survivors are several cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, May 27th at Wekiva Presbyterian Church, Longwood, FL. Interment will be in Nivervill, NY.
