Eva was born in Bradley, Maine in 1924, daughter of Viola Spencer Cully and Albert Cully. She grew up in Hartland, Maine, graduating from Hartland Academy. After high school she attended secretarial college in Cambridge, MA, where she waited tables during the day and took classes at night. At the end of WWII her high school classmate 1st Lt. Herbert Baird, returned from England and asked her to marry him in 1946. They remained married for 51 years and had one child, Pam. Eva and Herbert lived in Caribou, Maine for the majority of their years together where she worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses, including The Aroostook Republican and Solomon Distributors. She and Herbert retired to St. Albans, Maine, and she spent the last years of her life at the Atria Assisted Living facility in Sanford, Florida near her daughter.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Route 152, in Hartland, Maine. Time is TBD.
