Obituary

Ervin "Erv" Leonard LeMand of Groveland, FL, 76, passed away on May 13, 2016, at Cornerstone Hospice located in ORMC. He was surrounded by his loving family. Erv had fought a long and courageous battle with cancer over the past eighteen years.
Erv was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all. He is survived by his devoted wife of twenty-eight years and best friend, Cathi Weldon LeMand; his two sons Ervin "Lee" Leonard LeMand, Jr, (Kendra) and Erik Lundquist LeMand (Kristie). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Rollin, Serena, Ethan, and Mya, who he cherished; his sisters-in-law Sue (Bill) Moir, Doe (Rick) Fry, Jenifer Weldon, his brother-in-law, John Weldon, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Erv worked alongside his wife, Cathi, as a graphic designer for Zion's Hope for over fifteen years. He was passionate and devoted to this ministry, which spreads the truth of God's Word and the saving grace of Christ alone. He loved working with the many compassionate and devoted friends he had come to know at Zion's Hope. He was also a member of the Open Door Baptist Church in Clermont, FL. Erv was the first creative director of Walt Disney World. He worked in this capacity until he branched out into his own advertising company.
Erv enjoyed working with his hands (an inventor at heart) and was always building something and making improvements wherever necessary--nothing was too large or too small for him to tackle. He loved music and played guitar and sang in his younger years. As an artist, he was creative with an eye for aesthetics. He had a great love of water, whether sailing or being near it, and it brought him great joy. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his furry puppies, Lovey Lu and Hercules. He looked forward to spending time with them and enjoyed taking them for their daily strolls.
Erv's unending love for God, family and friends, his inner strength, incredible humor, and humbleness will truly be missed by all who knew him.
A special thank you to his physician and friend of forty years, Dr. Alden Sanborn and to the Cornerstone Hospice for their loving care and support.
A celebration of life will be held at Open Door Baptist Church in Clermont on Wednesday, May 18, at 11:00 a.m. Erv will be laid to rest at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gotha, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Zion's Hope, Inc.,146 W Plant St, Ste 300, Winter Garden, FL 34787, Open Door Baptist Church in Clermont, or Cornerstone Hospice located in ORMC.
