Eris J. Frye 94 formerly of St. Petersburg passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. She was born on March 6, 1924 in Burgettstown, PA. Eris graduated as a R.N. from the
Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing, in Pittsburgh, PA in 1945 and was a cadet nurse during the war. She came to St.
Petersburg in January 1946 and worked as a R.N at Bay Pines Veterans Hospital. She married Clifford L. Frye of St. Petersburg, FL in 1946. Her nursing career included being sent to Richmond, VA by the Red Cross to care for polio patients during a state epidemic in 1945. She also worked in several ST. Petersburg hospitals, also as
office nurse for DR. Langley. Eris completed her nursing career when she retired after 12 years as director of nursing at the Abbey
Nursing Center in 1986. She was a member since 1948 of Christ United Methodist Church, in ST. Petersburg. Predeceased by her husband Clifford of 58 years and son Gary in 1972. She is survived
by her daughters Diane Matula (Terry) of Dallas, TX, and Marcy Donat, Madeira Beach, FL. Five grandchildren, Michael J. Books,
McLendon-Chisholm, TX; Barry L. Books, Parrish, FL; Melissa A.
Hussey, Land O Lakes, FL; James J. Books, Plano, TX; Kristie L. Appugliese, Seminole, FL. Nine great grandchildren, Cristin, Carlo, Jordan, Jacob, Carly, Connor, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Colin. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday,
November 26 at 10 A.M.
