Emily L. Recchia, age 34, of Clermont, Florida, peacefully went home on July 5, 2022, surrounded by family and holding the hand of her beloved husband. Emily was born on August 15, 1987, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, the first born of eight children of John and Theresa Recchia.

Emily lead a faithful life in the service of others. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Northern Illinois University in 2010, Emily came to work for Wabash Valley Alliance in Lafayette, Indiana, starting as an Employment Specialist and then was promoted to Program Coordinator after three years. During this time she continued her education and earned her Master's Degree in Sociology from IUPUI in Indianapolis, IN, as well as falling in love with her husband Bryan and marrying him on May 24th, 2014. Emily was a two-time cancer survivor and had the honor of being a Torchbearer during the Indiana Bi-Centennial Torch Relay in 2016 as well as teaching classes at Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette. Emily gave birth to her darling Eleanor Rose in July of 2017, and shortly after that the family relocated to Florida from Indiana and quickly fell in love with all the Central Florida had to offer. Emily enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting theme parks, homeschooling her daughter, attending mass, playing games, shopping with her mom, and enjoying a Starbucks Frappucino. Her spirit and faith moved everyone she met, especially through all the trials she faced in her short life.

Emily's faith was very dear to her and she loved pondering what heaven was like, talking about the saints, praying for and offering up her suffering to the souls in purgatory. She loved teaching Eleanor her prayers and would say a Hail Mary with her before bed every night, hoping to instill the same love of the Blessed Mother in Eleanor that she had.

Emily is survived by her loving husband, Bryan A. Bonnell; her darling daughter, Eleanor R. Bonnell; her father and mother, John and Theresa Recchia of Ocoee, FL; her siblings, Phillip (Brianna) Recchia of Buffalo, IN; Elise (Mason) Tribbett of Monticello, IN; Westin (Christina) Recchia of Orlando, FL; Regina Recchia, Jennifer Recchia, James Recchia, and Lauren Stirling all of Ocoee, FL; as well as aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and many cousins spread throughout the country. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John and Louise Recchia; and her maternal grandparents, Victor and Phyllis Senese.

The first visitation will be on Friday, July 15, 2022,  at 11am- 2pm at: DeGusipe Funeral Home,
1400 Matthew Paris Blvd. Ocoee, FL.

The Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 3:00 pm at Incarnation Catholic Church Orlando, 1515 Edgewater Dr, Orlando, FL.

A second visitation will be on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Mary, Mother of God Chapel at Queen of Angels Cemetery at 10 am until 1pm followed by graveside burial. The Cemetary address is: 1901 Queen of Angels Dr, Winter Park, FL.
