Elsa Bermudez-Holm

Elsa Bermudez-Holm, age 102, who was residing in Orlando, Florida, passed away on July 5, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on December 30, 1920. She grew up in Ponce and New York. At 20 years of age, she returned to Ponce and she lived there until she was 90 years old. Her husband’s name was Paul Holm. After her husband’s passing, she moved in with her daughter Elsa Luisa and son-in-law Jose Delgado and lived in Arlington, Texas around 10 years and her last 2 years in Orlando, Florida. She owned a well known Hair Salon in downtown Ponce, Puerto Rico for almost 60 years. This was one of her passions. Her other passion was her family and friends. She would love to get together with them and if she couldn’t she would call and keep in touch with everyone. She was a true matriarch who maintained the family connected and united. She has taught so many of us so many things but most importantly to always love and keep in touch with your family. She will be truly missed. I MADE IT HOME I just wanted to let you know that I made it home. Everything is so pretty here, So white so fresh so new, I wish that you could close Your eyes so you could see it too. Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand. God is taking care of me… I’m in the shelter of his hands. Here there is no sadness, And no sorrow and no pain. Here there is no crying And I’ll never hurt again. Here it is so peaceful, When all the angels sing. I really have to go for now…. I’ve just got to try my wings…. PS. Also by her Son-in-law Jose Delgado and daughter-in-law Marisa Boyd. Also by her Grandkids: Lizie, Nelson, Marilyn and Federico Luis. And her Great Grandkids: Virginia, Sophia, Andrea, Monica, Michael and Juliet. And by her Great Great Grand daughter Elsa Sherry. Also by her nieces and nephews: Vivian, Nina Magali, Junior, Roberto, Maritza and Luis. And of course many cousins like Chancho and Isaac Ortiz ,great nieces,nephews other family members and friends. She was loved by all! Special thanks to Hilda Gonzalez, Solange Ortiz and Isis Ortiz for being there to support and help her especially during her last weeks. Per her Wishes her remains will be taken to Ponce, Puerto Rico, and a Funeral Service will be arranged at a later date (Late October or Early November).
