Mae was a true southern lady.
Mae Marcott was born in State Line, Mississippi, February 23, 1927 and grew up in Mobile, Alabama. She had four brothers and two sisters and lost her father when she was only eight years old. Interestingly enough, Mae met her husband (Ralph Marcott) while on vacation in Mississippi. To everyones surprise, it was love at first sight and they were married for 38 years until his passing in June 1981.
Mae is survived by three daughters: Ann Thonen (Samuel), Carolyn Moncada (Carlos) and Pearl Eloshway (Edward). Two sisters: Bea Buswell (Robert) and Sally Lathan Merkle (Gene). Two brothers: Clayton Brunson (Betty) and John Brunson (Linda). Six grandchildren: Samuel Thonen, Jr., Scott Thonen (Michelle), Barbara Bechtel (Dallas), Kimberly Doudna, Steve Eloshway, Kerry Marks (Bryan). Ten great grandchildren: Sammy III, Jacob, Josh; Kayla, Aayla, Shayla, William, Andrew, Nathan and Savanna.
Mae was raised by a loving family during the Great Depression. She spent time on a farm and helped raise her younger siblings. Mae moved to Pinellas County after marriage to Ralph. Mae was a farmer, first mate and co-owner of the charter boat Smarty, school cafeteria cook, baker and auto-auction lot assistant. Mae was a strong lady both in body and mind. She felt family and friends were always close to her heart and valued them more than anything. She worked into her eighties and loved to travel and party. You couldnt keep her down.
SHE DID IT HER WAY!
