Obituary

Eleanor Howe Potter 97, of St. Petersburg, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2018. She was born April 30, 1921 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. She spent her early life in southern Illinois before moving to the Quad Cities in 1941. She lived in Southlawn Addition, Rock Island, IL for over 56 years until she and her husband Leland moved to Florida in May 2007 to be closer to family.
She graduated from Oblong, IL High School and Brown Business School, Springfield, IL. She was employed as a Secretary at Franklin-Templeton Insurance in Springfield, Il and then the Arsenal in Rock Island, IL.
She married Leland Potter in March 1945 and they were able to celebrate 70 years of marriage in March 2015.
She was a member of Memorial Christian Church of Rock Island, IL for over 40 years, Fifteenth Avenue Church of Rock Island, and most recently First Christian Church of Seminole, FL. She was also a member of the Rock Island Dental Auxiliary and Rock Island and Seminole, FL Chapters of TOPS.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, James Arthur Howe and Odessa Bline Howe, and three brothers (Lloyd, Edwin, and Alan Howe), granddaughter Julie Mosca Parker, and sons-in-law Gary Miller and Tony Mosca. Loving family she leaves behind are daughters Linda Miller, Lana Mosca, and Diane (Bob) Mackie; grandchildren Andrea Miller and Jennifer Durante; Lance Miller; Nicolas Mosca; Sheila and Mitchel Beardsley; Jackie and Shawn Knadler; and great-grandchildren Paul (Ashley) Miller, Cameron Miller; Caleb and Noah Parker; Morgan, Sydney and Avery Beardsley; Evan, Brady, Dillon, and Addie Knadler.
Interment at Bay Pines National Cemetery at a later date.
