Elaine J. Singleton, 87, of Oviedo, Florida, entered eternal life on Sunday, March 29,
2026. She was born in Orlando, Florida, and was a proud graduate of Florida State
University.
Elaine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, Waymon
Franklin Singleton; her mother, Myrtle Williams Jones; her father, Gilbert Curry Jones;
and sister, Diane Grove.
She is survived by her children: Sheri Bell (Gregory), Terry Singleton (Carole), and Julie
Michel. She was a devoted grandmother to Steven Bell (Pamela), Christopher Bell
(Megan), Jason Bell (Caity), Joshua Bell (Genna), Leah Singleton (Matt), Luke
Singleton, Ashley Singleton, and Sara Michel; and a foster grandmother to William
("Will") Belt.
Elaine was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Clark Bell, Rosemary ("Rosie")
Bell, Charlie Bell, Maci Bell, Theo Bell, Isaac Bell, Hallie Bell, and Julian Belt, along with
many nieces, nephews, and treasured friends.
Elaine married the love of her life, Waymon, in 1960. Together they built a life centered
on faith, family, and service. Waymon proudly served his country in the United States
Navy aboard the USS Johnston (DD-821).
Elaine found pleasure in time spent with her family, tending to her garden, traveling to
Lil Hogback, working puzzles, and participating in Bible Study Fellowship. She had a
remarkable gift for growing African violets, caring for orchids and was known for her
green thumb. She was also a talented painter and enjoyed crafting while raising her
family.
Elaine loved the Lord and was a longtime member of New Covenant Anglican Church in
Winter Springs, Florida. After Waymon's passing in 2018, she moved to the Lutheran
Haven community in Oviedo, where she worshipped at St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:30 PM, with a dessert
reception to follow in the Fellowship Hall at Lutheran Haven, 1522 Haven Drive, Oviedo,
FL. The Rev. John Elliott will officiate.
