Obituary

Eileen May Cornett was born on April 3, 1934 in Milton, Indiana. Her mother was Lela Paul Sherwood and her father was Lamoine Sherwood.

She wore many hats; wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, friend, secretary and teacher.

She was well known for her baking skills… especially her cookies! She was known as the "cookie lady" baking night and day for those attending VBS. Family holidays always had to include cookies set aside for those late comers! There were many times when the last butter brickle cookie had to be shared among two or three to be sure no one was slighted!

Eileen loved the holidays when family and friends were around. She enjoyed those times when her home was filled to the brim; many times 25 or more spending the nights at Thanksgiving or Christmas. She loved seeing the grands and great grands running the halls, laughing and playing. And, of course, the evenings were filled with games of Rook… many times with more than one game going at a time! The atmosphere was always electric with stories of days gone by.

There was never a stranger in Eileen's house, once you came you were considered a part of the family and you were welcomed with open arms.
