Obituary

There is a saying in the old country that goes something like this: you can live in Poland, Germany, and the Soviet Union without ever leaving your village. Edward Michael Wartalowicz lived this. Edward was born on September 29, 1934 to Wladysliw and Marianna, the second of four children in Czosnov, Poland. From a young age, Edward excelled at building. During World War II, SS officers told his parents they would be back for him when he was a little older after watching him build a miniature tank complete with firing mechanism.

Later, Edward would take great pride in being the only student in his class at Warsaw Polytechnic to fail communist marxist ideology. At the age of 30, Edward added something else to his resume: pioneer. Escaping communism for a better life, he made the long journey across the Atlantic. Landing in a place where he had precious few contacts, Edward made a name for himself in the field of Structural Engineering. He would go on to work with distinction until the age of 72. This endeavor brought great fortune to Edwards life and he was generous to all around him. At the age of 88, with the mercy of God, Edward passed peacefully in his sleep.

Edward is survived by his wife of 51 years, Krystyna, his son Alex, his grandson Luke, and his sister Anna.
