Edward A Douglas passed away on Wednesday, July 6th 2022 at the age of 74. He passed in St.
Petersburg Florida, the city he called home for most of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife Lois
Douglas and survived by their four children; Richele Clark, Tara Chambers, Michael Douglas, and Amber
Williamson. Edward is also survived by his brother Steven Douglas and by grandchildren; Zachary
Douglas, Zacary Clark, Chyna Williamson, Neville Chambers, and Travis Clark.
Born December 10th, 1947 in Minnesota, Edward went on to spend his formative years on Michigan's
upper peninsula in the town of Marquette. He would often reminisce about time spent there with his
brother and the hijinks they got into as children. He also spoke frequently about his love for hockey, a
passion he kept for life. Edward would go on to serve in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the
Vietnam War. Following his tours of service, he relocated to Florida, a decision that Edward said he
made by flipping a coin. Once in Florida, Edward found his calling as an electrician and eventually
opened his own electrical contracting company with his son Michael. After owning and operating his
company for many years, Edward spent some time as an electrical inspector for his home county before
eventually retiring and focusing on spending time with his wife and family.
Ed enjoyed many simple pleasures in life, including watching his favorite sports teams religiously, sitting
down to read the paper daily, collecting coins, and spending time with his wife and family. We would be
remiss to not reiterate his passion for his sports teams; Ed was a die-hard Florida Gators fan, a day-one
season ticket holder for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he never missed a Rays or Lightning game. His
first and foremost interest though was always the welfare of his family.
Edward was a beloved patriarch for his family, providing his loved ones with support and guidance
whenever it was needed. He will be dearly missed.
