Eduardo B. Rodriguez 91, of Seminole went home to be with his Lord and Savior on
July 26, 2017.
He was born on June 25, 1926 in Salinas, Puerto Rico. At the age of 18, he was drafted into the United States Army during World War II. After his tour there, he returned to finish his High School diploma. In 1946, Eduardo reenlisted and then was stationed in Germany from 1948 to 1954. It was in 1953 that he met his future love of his life Monika but then had to return to the states. He served his second tour in Germany from 1956 to 1964 and reunited and married Monika in 1959.
After returning to the states, he became a paratrooper at the age of 38 and returned proudly to his unit with his airborne wings. He then served in Vietnam from 1965 to 1966. He retired from the Army after 22 years of service in 1968 and was honored with two Purple Hearts.
After his military career he and Monika continued to reside in Seminole, Florida where he worked at St. Anthony's Hospital and enjoyed his time there for 20 yrs. After retirement, he was able to enjoy taking many trips with his family to show them Germany, Switzerland, Lichtenstein, Italy and Austria. He will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 57yrs, Monika and his 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 4th at 2:15 at Bay Pines National Cemetery with full Military Honors.
