Obituary

Alex Burruezo, beloved son, husband, father and friend passed into the loving arms of our Lord on September 3, 2019 at the age of 34.
Alex was born to Mundy and Francine Burruezo on April 25, 1985 in Tampa, Florida. He attended Corpus Christi Catholic School from 1st-8th grade, followed by King High School, then Bishop Moore High School. Alex's lifetime passion was baseball and he began playing at the age of 5. Throughout the years he played competitively in Tampa, Orlando, for Bishop Moore High School and Lake City Community College. After college, he continued share his love of baseball through coaching various local teams, including Bishop Moore High School.
Alex met his wife Nicole in 2001 at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, Florida. They married on September 7, 2013 and have two children, Matthew (2) and Sophia (5). Alex was a loving and faithful husband, incredible father and amazing friend. His smile, laugh, determination, and work ethic were infectious. He served as a mentor to many both personally and professionally and gave his all to everything he did.
A few of Alex's favorite things were playing and coaching baseball, mentoring and motivating others, a good craft beer, FSU football, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Throughout his entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God.
Alex joins his grandparents Brenda Taylor, Jerry Brokaw, Jose Burruezo, Sr. and Esperanza Chediak and his brother Dusten in Heaven. He is survived by his parents, Mundy and Francine Burruezo; brother, Vincent; sister, Christina; wife Nicole; daughter Sophia; son Matthew; maternal step grandmother, Ginny Brokaw; uncle, Jose Burruezo; two aunts, Vanessa Duffy, Suzanne (Brian) Callahan, and numerous cousins.
