Obituary

Edelyn Joyce Quintos LeDoux was born September 15, 1985. For her 12,200 days on this earth, she was loved and she loved all those around her.
She was born in Manila, Philippines to her parents, Ederlinda and Edmundo Quintos. After Mount Pinatubo erupted and the shutting down of the Naval Base in Subic Bay in 1991, her mother along with her and her siblings evacuated from their hometown in San Antonio, Zambales to find a safer place for them to settle. She went to a private Montessori in Manila for several months and then they moved to the countryside in Sampangmaragul, Tarlac until they left the Philippines and flew to California in October 1993. She was living in Canoga Park with her family until the Northridge earthquake in 1994 before settling down on the other side of the hills amongst the strawberry fields where the land touched the ocean in Oxnard, California.
Coming from the Philippines with her mother and siblings, it took some time for them to adjust. Acting like the second mother, she helped raise her siblings while her mother was providing for them. They moved around from one space to another in Oxnard as their mother worked to provide a home and shelter for them. After attending 3 elementary schools and living in multiple places, they moved to their new house where they lived while she was in 6th and 7th grade. In the summer of 1999, her mother, her and her siblings went to Avenal before moving to Lemoore, California. There, she became involved in band and in her religion, but in the summer of 2002, they moved back to Oxnard where she finished high school. This was also the time she would make a trip to Florida and meet her husband to be, Jonathan LeDoux.
When college years came around, she moved back to Central Valley for school because of how the place impacted her the years before. She chose to live in Fresno, California to be with her best friend. She attended California State University of Fresno where she met some of her closest friends, became a Youth Group President, remained a choir member for her church, and developed a passion for music and photography. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Health Science – Environmental/Occupational Health and Safety. Her professional career commenced with the County of Ventura as an Agricultural Inspector when she moved back to Oxnard to be with her family.
Edelyn and Jonathan started their long-distance relationship in Dec 2006. She loved incessantly no matter the distance, she was the most genuine woman Jonathan ever laid eyes on. He asked her to be his wife December 20, 2008. 20,000+ minute/month phone bills, expedia flights to and from California-Florida and countless USPS surprise packages came to an end February 2009 when Jonathan moved permanently to Southern California. They wed soon thereafter, Janurary 16, 2010.
Edelyn's life would change completely December 24, 2010, when she gave birth to her first child, Jeron Matthew LeDoux. The object of all her love, concern and immense passion balled into a small human being. She wanted to be the best mother and mold the world for Jeron and all her children by deciding to postpone her professional career ambitions though she was offered a position for Baxter International, to permanently become a homemaker, homeschool teacher and mama bear. Nothing mattered more to her than her three children. She gave birth to her two children, Eden Jeanne on May 31, 2014 and Jordan Matthew on March 2, 2016.
Edelyn's purpose in life was to make the most fulfilling experiences for her family and children. Everyday she prepared wholesome experiences with everything around them. She was resourceful and modest, gracious and faithful. She was a dreamer and Disneyphile.
Edelyn was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on September 2017. After various treatments and surgeries, her cancers proved to be tenacious. Despite her bitter fight, a persistent smile and zeal for life surpassed the agony of her enormous fight. Many friends and new acquaintances were appalled to find out she had cancer because of her effervescent attitude and contagious smile. She was very private with her battle because of her selflessness and care for others. She never wanted anyone to worry about her, she knew she would do whatever needs to be done. In the summer of 2018, she was informed that her cancer had metastasized to stage 4. Despite the treatments, in December she was told that the cancer had progressed.
Edelyn's battle came to an end February 10, 2019 surrounded by her siblings, parents and husband by her bedside. Her legacy lives on through her husband Jonathan and her three children, Jeron, Eden and Jordan. Her faith and relationship with God were realized through her membership in the Church of Christ (Iglesia Ni Cristo). There is no doubt, heaven gained another angel. She was loved tremendously by her family and friends. It was a pleasure to be in her presence. Her memory, genuine smile and never-ending love will live in our hearts forever.
