Dwayne Speller, 50 years old of Windermere, Florida, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018. Dwayne was born June 10, 1967, in Brooklyn, New York, to Sidney Speller and Barbara Crute Speller.

Dwayne is survived by wife, Maxine. His four children Dwayne Jr. (Nadia), Brian, Tyrone and Myriah. His four grandchildren Aziia Speller, Aniyah Speller, Riley Speller and step-granddaughter Julani. Two sisters Cindy Speller of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Darlene Brown (Peter) of Titusville, Florida. Two brothers Sidney Speller Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Herbert Speller of Staten Island, New York. Mother Barbara Johnson of California. Dwayne was preceded in death by his father Sidney Speller and sister Barbara Jean Speller. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother- in law Violet Christian, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Dwayne was blessed to have had Claudette Robinson as his special mother as well as Sharease Atkins as his special daughter.

Dwayne's professional career spanned 20 years in the Hotel/Resort industry. He began his career at the Hilton New York & Towers at Rockefeller Center in 1987 as a Housekeeping Supervisor. Moving up the corporate ladder several times he was promoted to the following positions: Facilities Supervisor, Event Services Manager, Conference Manager, and Assistant Director of Facilities. In 1999 Dwayne moved his family to Las Vegas, Nevada, after attaining a position at Bally's & Paris Las Vegas Casino Resorts as a Convention Services Manager. He was then promoted to assistant Director of Convention Services. In 2005 he accepted a position as Director of Convention Services at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort and Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, until he was overcome by illness in 2006. He resided in Windermere, Florida, up to the time of his demise.

Dwayne was an adventurous, compassionate, and generous man. He was a supportive family man and friend. When someone was in need, he was there for them. He was always the life of the party. His values and hard work ethic can now be seen in his children. The legacy he left behind shines through them. Dwayne worked hard to provide his family with endless opportunities. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. Dwayne loved sharing his knowledge. He loved schmoozing his clients at work with a night of karaoke. Dwayne loved traveling, sightseeing and spending time with his family.

A Memorial Service will be officiated by the Rev. Dr. Bryan Stamper at Quest Church in Gotha, Florida, at 2:30 pm on Friday, March 23, 2018.
