Doug was born September 4, 1951 in Memphis, TN. where he grew up. Passed away March 21, 2022 with family by his side.
He graduated from University of Memphis with BA. He moved to Florida in 1977 and met his future wife Paula in 1979. They moved to Orlando and lived in College Park for 18 years. They started A-1 Auction Service in 1982, an antique auction service offering high-end estate goods and collectibles. His love and knowledge for antiques grew. For 38 years Doug and Paula held auctions in the Orlando area where he became the premier auction service in town.
Doug truly loved his work and helped people everyday in business and personal life. He had a great sense of humor and the heart of an angel. He loved Gator Football, music, and fishing. But his true love was his wife Paula. They were married for 42 wonderful years.
He is survived by his wife Paula, daughter Stephanie Stewart (Tracey Stewart), Natalie Stewart McDorman (deceased), son Clark Stewart. Granddaughters Mackenzie Minimi (Ricardo Minimi) and Sara McDorman. Great Grandchildren Riccardo Minimi and Italia Minimi. Nephew Conner White (Memphis, Tn.) and grandniece Cailyn White. Brother Louis White.
A celebration of life will be held April 2, 2022 at 3pm at DeGusipe Funeral Home, 9001 N. Orlando Ave. Maitland, FL. 32751.
In lieu of flowers Doug ask to make a donation in his name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
