Born on May 12, 1945, at Camp Meckall, North Carolina, Major General Metcalf dedicated his life to the service of his country with honor and unwavering commitment.
Throughout his esteemed military career, he earned the respect and admiration of his peers and subordinates alike, exemplifying leadership and integrity at every turn. His dedication to duty and country stood as a testament to his character and the values he held dear.
Douglas is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Metcalf, who stood faithfully by his side throughout his life’s journey. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Thomas Metcalf and Helen Katherine Kerigan, whose memories remain cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on July 8, 2026, starting at 11:00 AM, and concluding at 12:00 PM, at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, located at 526 N Park Ave, Winter Park, Florida 32789. Friends, family, and all whose lives were touched by Major General Metcalf are welcomed to gather in remembrance of his lasting legacy.
