Douglas William MacFarland Marshal, 89 of Altamonte Springs, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022 surrounded by family and friends. Doug was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey where he lived until he relocated to Florida. He worked in the insurance business for many years where he made lifelong friends and mentored many of his employees. Doug was also a motivational speaker which was reflected in the way he lived his life and encouraged positivity in others. At the end of his career, he was a sales representative for Westgate Resorts where he earned recognition for being in the Million Dollar Club. He was a long time resident of Cranes Roost Condominiums where he also served may years on the HOA Board.

Doug was an avid golfer who traveled around the world and played at some of the world's finest golf courses. He often spoke fondly of having made three holes-in-one. His favorite food choice was soup, earning him the nickname Soupman. He was quick witted and always ready with a kind word or a story. He traced his family ancestry roots back to the Mayflower and kept meticulous records for many generations to come.

Doug was predeceased by his parents Douglas and Estelle MacFarland, his wife Maureen Marshal and an infant daughter Leslie. He is survived by three daughters; Sherry Carbonell of Lees Summit, Missouri, Dorynne Longino of Altamonte Springs, Florida and Dawn Margulies of Lanai, Hawaii. His sister,Florence (Sonny) Merla of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter Willow Grace who gave him tremendous joy in the final years of his life. After becoming a widower, Doug found love again with Estelle Hurwitch whom he shared a very special bond with until his final breath.

In the final years of his life, Doug suffered from the effects of Parkinsons Disease and was lovingly cared for at home by his eldest daughter Sherry. A celebration of life was held on November 25, 2022 overlooking the golf course at Castleberry Country Club. Doug was eulogized by many friends, neighbors and family members. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
